Bernice Goodspeed (1882-1971) was an American cultural anthropologist and jewelry designer known for her work in pre-Columbian archeology and her contributions from the 1940s onward to Taxco Mexican silver jewelry design incorporating elements from ancient Aztec & Mayan wall painting and artifacts. This brooch is a mid 20c. design that is ~2.25" square. It has a rollover clasp with a stylized single initial design that can be read as either a W or M.
