Billodes for K. Serkisoff & Co. key-wound pocket watch in a full hunter 800 silver case, circa 1880. Billodes was an early trade name used by Georges Favre-Jacot, who would go on to found Zenith; K. Serkisoff & Co. was a Constantinople retailer of luxury goods. Enamel dial features botanical decoration typical of watches made for the Turkish market, and the inscription "K. Serkisoff & Co. / Constantinople" underneath. Repaired chip to enamel near the 8 o'clock position. Machined decoration to front and back of case with blank cartouche to front; case is slightly dented in spots. Watch is running. Includes a heavy sterling silver chain with marks for William Thorneywork of Birmingham, 1902. Chain weighs approximately 1.5ozt and includes a winding key and nameplate inscribed J.L.S.
