Rare Cuban 19th century silver traveling bidet with Spanish colonial provenance, possibly belonging to a Marquis of Pinar del Rio or of Almendares. Disassembles into 6 parts: silver basin, wooden base, and 4 legs. Unmarked hand-hammered silver basin of unknown fineness weighs 58.35ozt, almost exactly 4 pounds avoirdupois. Solid wooden stand is hand-carved to fit the silver basin with dovetailed inserts for turned legs, which attach with wooden screws. Apparently purchased from a Havana dealer in the 1950s; provenance paperwork included.
